How will a Coney Island BID support the Amusement Area? 

Marketing & Promotions to increase tourism and Coney Island brand recognition, including pamphlets and brochures, advertisements on public transportation, participation in wide-reaching tourism initiatives, social media, and more 

Streetscaping and Decorations to market and promote the area, including banners, holiday lighting, plantings and horticulture, and tree bed maintenance 

Events to drive visitorship and service the local community; free year-round public programming, including fireworks on summer weekends, and legacy events such as Flicks on the Beach, the Polar Bear Plunge, and more! 

Community Based Public Safety Program, including supplemental security officers, and advocacy with the local precinct to reduce unlicensed vending on and around the boardwalk 

Supplemental Sanitation and Maintenance Services including, sidewalk sweeping, graffiti removal, power washing, and snow removal at corners, with frequency of service increasing in the busy summer months 

Workforce Development: events to connect local residents to seasonal jobs in the neighborhood, and support Amusement District businesses in hiring local workers 

Dedicated Staff to manage the organization, develop and execute local programming, and respond to community feedback 

Advocacy: liaising with City agencies to address Amusement area specific concerns
